From February 1-3, Ukraine is forecast to experience a cold snap of -20 to -30 °C, which will cover the northern and central regions and create a threat of winterkill for winter crops in the south and central parts of the country due to insufficient snow cover. However, it is too early to talk about the scale of possible losses, as from February 4, temperatures are expected to rise and snowfalls are forecasted. In Ukraine, about 5-6% of the corn harvest remains uncollected, which continues to be harvested during frosts in the absence of precipitation. In southern Argentina, very dry weather has prevailed for over three weeks, reducing soil moisture and worsening the condition of corn and soybean crops, while heat of 30-32 °C exhausts the plants. This week, precipitation is forecast, which will lower temperatures and reduce stress on the plants.
