In 2022, Hungary harvested 84.07 thousand tons of peppers from 1.35 thousand hectares, solidifying its position as a net exporter of green peppers. In the first nine months of 2023, the export volume of green peppers increased by 15 percent, reaching 18.62 thousand tons, while the export value increased by 24 percent to 29.52 million euros compared to the previous year. Germany remains the largest export market, although exports to Slovakia and the Czech Republic have increased significantly. Additionally, the producer price of domestically grown sweet peppers for stuffing has seen a notable increase compared to the previous year.
