Milk production reached 425.1 thousand tons. According to Kurskstat, as of the end of December 2025, the livestock population in the Kursk region amounted to 122.5 thousand heads, including 48.4 thousand cows. The main part of the cattle is kept in agricultural organizations - 92.0 thousand heads, or 75.1% of the total. In households, the livestock population amounted to 21.9 thousand heads (17.9%), and in peasant (farmer) farms - 8.7 thousand heads (7.1%). The pig population in the region amounted to 2,171.5 thousand heads. Agricultural organizations accounted for 99.0% of the total number of these animals (2,149.8 thousand heads). In households, as of the reporting date, there were 21.7 thousand heads (1.0%), and in peasant farms - 0.1 thousand heads. The number of sheep and goats amounted to 150.4 thousand heads.
