In 2022, the EU saw an increase in both the volume and value of fresh fruit and vegetable exports to Canada, with a 20% growth totaling 128.6 million euros. Citrus fruits were the most exported products, followed by garlic, onions, and leeks. On the other hand, EU purchases from Canada remained relatively small, but increased in volume and value compared to the previous year. The EU and Canada have a Strategic Partnership Agreement and a Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which have strengthened their economies and fostered a closer partnership.
