Tien Giang province in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam is seeing significant profit margins from the cultivation of sapodilla trees, with the fruit fetching between 15,000 to 20,000 VND/kg for Mac Bac and nearly 50,000 VND/kg for Mexican varieties. This has made sapodilla farming a lucrative enterprise, potentially earning over 200 million VND/year from each hectare. The province, with nearly 2,000 hectares dedicated to sapodilla, is one of the leading regions for its cultivation, especially in communes along the Tien river in Chau Thanh district. The tree is known for its drought and saline water resistance, high yield of nearly 30 tons/hectare, and the ability to be harvested year-round.
