The head of Baijinyuan Trading Company, Shen Baihe, has expressed that the recent suspension of pineapple imports from Taiwan to the mainland by China does not signify a tightening of access for agricultural products, but rather a quarantine issue. She emphasized the importance of Taiwan ensuring strict quarantine measures to maintain access to its largest export market. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and tense cross-strait relations, Shen Baihe has not encountered significant barriers in agricultural trade. She believes that with proper sales strategies and quarantine measures, traders can continue to access the mainland market. Additionally, she highlighted the opportunity for Taiwan farmers to increase their income by opening up the export market.
