In August 2024, Turkey saw a decrease in the prices of potatoes, green onions, and onions, with potatoes experiencing the largest decrease of 29.8%, while the prices of cucumbers, zucchini, and eggplants increased. Overall, 22 out of 37 products saw an increase in price, 14 saw a decrease, and 1 remained the same. Shemsi Bayraktar, head of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture of Turkey (TZOB), attributed the decrease in potato prices to a higher yield and storage issues.
