In 2023, Ukraine saw a significant increase in pasta exports, with about 24,000 tons valued at nearly $53 million, a 33% rise from the previous year. The European Union was the primary market, contributing to around 83% of total exports, with Germany being the top buyer. Despite this growth, Ukraine still has a negative trade balance as imports exceeded exports by over 4,000 tons. The country's imports were mainly from Italy, Turkey, Poland, and China. There is an anticipated continuation of this growth in 2024, with a 50% increase in exports in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2023. Ukraine aims to expand its export markets to include the United States, Canada, Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, and Malaysia.
