Apparently, more and more consumers are answering this question in favor of the vegetarian or vegan alternative. In 2020, companies in this country produced almost 39% more meat substitute products compared to the previous year: production rose from almost 60.4 thousand tons to a good 83.7 thousand tons as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
