Vietnam has experienced a 3.5% increase in pepper exports in the first seven months of 2023, totaling 8,023 tons. The Asian market was the primary consumer, accounting for 96.4% of the total exports. China was the largest market, receiving 85.2% of the exports. Despite this, exports to China saw a decrease of 1.9% compared to the previous year. The US and Taiwan markets witnessed significant growth, with increases of 123.4% and 640% respectively. Since March 2022, China has permitted formal pepper exports from Vietnam, contributing to a overall increase in pepper exports from Vietnam in 2023 by 107% to 10,173 tons and generating $20 million in revenue.
