German apple harvests are projected to decrease by 26% to 734 thousand tons this season, the lowest since 2017, due to adverse weather conditions like frosts and unfavorable pollinating conditions. This shortfall is expected to increase the demand for imported apples, potentially benefiting countries like Poland. Last year, Poland exported nearly 100 thousand tons of apples to Germany. The decrease in domestic production could also result in higher prices for apple consumers in Germany.
