Farmers in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province are experiencing increased output and pricing for the 2022-2023 winter-spring rice crop. The crop is reporting higher yields and lower pest issues, leading to reduced need for pesticides. Furthermore, the price of rice has risen significantly, offering farmers profitable harvests and improved living standards. Despite high input prices, the favorable conditions, increased productivity, and higher prices are compensating for the costs, leaving farmers optimistic. The province has planted nearly 7,000 hectares of rice, with an estimated yield of 8-9 tons/ha, marking an increase from the previous year.
