Poland breaks records in grain exports in 2022 and 2023

- In the period from January 2022 to July 2023, i.e. almost from the moment of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Poland exported a record 16.8 million tons of cereal grain, including 9.1 million tons in 2022 and 7.7 million tons by July 2023. At the same time, we have recorded increased grain imports to the country, mainly from Ukraine, but the grain trade balance is positive, exports are several times higher than imports, emphasized Wroński. He added that as a result of the disruption of grain supply chains caused by the outbreak of war, grain prices on the global market increased significantly in 2022, which led to a reduction in demand for grains on international markets.
