The 11th annual Almond Tree Festival was held in Feb-24 in Tafraoute, Morocco, with the Head of Government presiding over it. With a total area of 230.51 thousand hectares (ha) dedicated to almond tree cultivation, the festival aims to highlight the importance of the almond tree in Moroccan agriculture. The event also focuses on improving the Anti-Atlas region's heritage and enhancing the locals' living conditions. The festival attracts 100 exhibitors and 80 thousand professionals from the agricultural sector. As part of its Green Generation 2020-2030 plan, Morocco aims to increase almond cultivation by 108 thousand ha by 2030.
The embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria organized a video conference between Global Export and Austrian importers to explore the potential of exporting dried organic agricultural products from Uzbekistan to the Austrian market. The parties discussed the growing demand for dried fruits and legumes from Uzbekistan, and Austrian importers expressed their intention to purchase various products, including raisins, cherries, pomegranates, walnuts, almonds, apricots, and raspberries. The meeting also involved negotiations regarding the possibility of signing export contracts.
