Although coffee is not a commercial crop in Malaysia, the coffee produced is of very good quality. Liberica coffee, a type of coffee grown in Sarawak, is unique among other coffee species because of its fragrant aroma and its coffee beans are also larger in size compared to regular coffee beans. Although the production volume is very low at this time, it is still receiving very high demand and this has led to it being among the most expensive coffee variety in the market.
