Ginger is one of the spices that can be grown in Malaysia due to favorable weather conditions. Although the harvests are not large, it is sufficient for the domestic market. However, all varieties grown in Malaysia are varieties from India. Malaysia has tried to plant ginger from other countries, but the plants cannot provide good ginger quality. For this reason, only varieties from India are grown.
