When the COVID-19 minimization efforts including shelter-in-place orders were issued early-March, the panic buying that was seen in the grocery stores was also extending to almonds. Domestic sales went up and April itself was a new record. The issue now is catching up after the spike in demand. The supply chain trails one to two months behind after the initial panic shopping the demand flattened out.
