Hail Storms Pose Significant Risk to Citrus and Nut Crops in Eastern Spain

The instability and uncertainty in the weather conditions continue to affect 2024's crops in the production area of eastern Spain. Hail storms during W25 are expected to result in the loss of 20 thousand hectares of citrus, almond, persimmon, and olive crops. The damage is being assessed but everything points to supply shortages in the coming months, as was the case during the current campaign.
