The Spanish avocado campaign is coming to an end, ending earlier than usual due to a shortage in production with high and stable prices. Currently, the largest producing areas (southern Spain) have low volumes, and the imported product is gaining market share. Especially in large calibres, since medium and small avocados have dominated. The EXW Spain price levels during the campaign have usually been around USD 3.71/kg for sizes 12-14-16 and USD 3.54/kg for size 18. As more fruit enters Peru, prices are expected to drop to levels of USD 2.73–3.27/kg.
