Avocado exporters are faced with the challenge of fruit ripening during the transit journey and arriving in the destination country with quality issues. This is as a result of over-matured end of season fruits, with some having as high as 32% dry matter. While the challenge is with both fruits sourced from Kenya and Tanzania, it appears to be more predominant with avocados sourced from Tanzania.
