In the Brazilian semi-arid, there are species of forage plants like Nopal Cactus and saltbush, which are tolerant to saltwater. The International Center for Biosalin Agriculture (ICBA), from the United Arab Emirates, is particularly interested in such species. The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), on the other hand, aims to know the genetic materials of the Arabs and the technologies already deployed by them. Both institutions signed a cooperation agreement for mutual exchange of knowledge.
