During March 2022 broccoli wholesale price was USD 0.50 per unit, an increase of 31% compared to USD 0.38 in February 2022. Compared to the same period last year prices have also increased by 33%. Main reason for price increase is the increasing costs of production and also a shortage of volume in wholesale markets. Broccoli is mainly produced by smallholder farmers in rural areas and it is important that the Ministry of Agriculture and other institutions can support them to increase production and maintain price stability.
