Citrus Belt in the Salto Region of Argentina and Uruguay Suffered From Drought Affecting Production

The Citrus belt of the Salto region is in Argentina and Uruguay. This region is the table citrus-producing area in Latin America for exports. In 2023, droughts in the area have caused harm to citrus production this season. Argentina and Uruguay are expected to have a limited volume and sizes of oranges and a substantial price increase. The season is set to start in mid-May to mid-November.
