Due to restriction of prawn and crab fishing in Mozambique, the the price of value added crab has seen a major increase.

Due to efforts from the government to promote sustainable fishing activities, they have announced a halt of all the crab and prawn fishing activities starting this month (October). Therefore all crab, prawn & shrimp fishing activities have been halted for the next 5 months, reopening next year March. Since a shortage in crab and prawn was already being experienced, the price of crab and value-added crab saw an even higher increase in price, rising over 14%.
