In the Q3 of 2020, the Italian agri-food districts achieved over EUR 5B in sales abroad, with a growth of 2.3% compared to 2019. This is a record figure for district exports for Italian agro-food, which never exceeded 5B in the summer quarter. The most significant contribution to the growth comes from the pasta and desserts chain. The export of pasta and desserts chain to international markets shows no signs of stopping; 4.1% higher in the third quarter of 2020. Among other things, the countercyclical nature of the food districts is confirmed in comparison with the other manufacturing districts monitored, which closed the third quarter with a tendential contraction of a 6.3% decrease.
