The Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA) registered, in the first half of 2020, an increase of 7% in exports to Brazil. This growth now motivates a presentation of the Alentejo Wines Sustainability Program (PSVA) to what is the main international market for the region. The initiative is scheduled for this Wednesday, October 7, at 7 pm, on CVRA's online platforms.

The event exclusively organized for the Brazilian market, which already occupies the first place of the destinations that most import Alentejo wine, will include sommeliers and prominent opinion leaders in the South American market, such as Gustavo Pádua, Manoel Beato, Susana Bareli, Ricardo Castillo and Juliana Ventura, as well as representatives of some of the largest media in Brazil. They will have the opportunity to get to know the Program that aims to place environmental, social and economic sustainability at the center of wine production.

"Alentejo wines represent almost 25% of all Portuguese wine sales in Brazil and, due to the evolution of exports in the last four years, we have seen that we sell more and better, that is, we have increased in volume and in value. The presentation of this innovative initiative will allow us to strengthen ties with this public and make known [the efforts toward a greener future]”, explains CVRA president Francisco Mateus.

It is recalled that Alentejo wine exports have been registering a sustained increase over the last 5 years, translating into a growth of 65% in volume and 58% in value.
