While the Cape Spiney Lobster is world-renowned for its sweet taste, the lobster is much smaller than other species. The tail dress out is only a 28% yield (65g-85g), and as a result, they are sold as whole frozen or live. This year, the fishing quota has been cut by almost 30%, from 837MT to 600MT, making it difficult for exporters to fill orders.
