Heavy rain in Guatemala expected to reduce sesame seed yield

For 2021-2022 Sesame Seeds harvested in Guatemala, excess rain had damaged the flowering of the crops. Exporters expect that there would be a maximum 15-20% reduction in production. Guatemala will be able to produce about 10-12 Thousand MT this season, given that early crops planted in mid-July and early-August are doing very well, already largely in full bloom.
