Due to the supply gap of the Iceberg lettuce in Spain during the past two weeks, a big fast-food chain in North Europe was forced to purchase icebergs from the US to fill the gap. Greek Iceberg production covers lean domestic demand, and the (small) surplus is exported to the UK, France, and Germany at a high price. Due to rainy weather, Italy is expected to experience supply disruptions while Spain is expected to recover by next week.
