Suppliers in Negros Occidental province are struggling with exporting banana chips because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Some importers from China have stopped transacting because of the export stoppage to the country implemented this year 2020. About 1 million banana chips were used to be exported every week to China, and because of the situation, local producers are now losing out on revenues. Suppliers are now aiming to do export to other Asian countries near the Philippines to be able to continue the business, such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
