Typhoon No.15 hit Japan at end of September, which damaged the eggplants grown through open-field cultivation in the summer. In W40, the price of eggplants increased by 30% YoY. Meanwhile, the main supply area is shifting from eastern to western Japan, where the typhoon left less damage to eggplant greenhouses, and this will help to recover the eggplant price.
