From W43 to W45, Autumn in Japan had less rain which was 20-40% YoY. It delays the ripening of winter vegetables cultivated in open fields, including the Japanese radish. While the main supply area of Japanese radish for the Tokyo market shifted from the Northern to the Eastern region of Japan, W45 of the market started with 20% less supply than in 2021. As for the price per kg increased 130% YoY. According to the Japan Weather Association, Eastern Japan will have cloudy and rainy days from W46. The rainfall will promote Japanese radish ripening and lower its market price in Tokyo.
