Most avocado producers are experiencing up to 25% lower fruits counts in the first harvest estimate survey of the season. This is mainly due to the bad and cooler weather during the main variety, Hass's, flowering period. It is a very good indication that New Zealand can expect a lower production than in the 2021 harvest. Australia might also experience a lower production in 2022 due to there bumper 2021 crop. This might put upward pressure on the avocado prices for the coming season.
