Nusa Tenggara Timur province will be the main sorghum production area in Indonesia

Indonesian province of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) is planning to have a total of 50,000 hectares of sorghum plantation area by the end of 2022. Sorghum as food contains a high source of carbohydrates, namely starch, soluble sugar and fiber. Sorghum also produces ethanol which is useful for fuel mixtures. The production estimation is 18 MT per hectare per hectare in a year, which will amount to 900.000 MT in 2022.
