The World Organization for Animal Health recognized the states of Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia, and part of Amazonas and Mato Grosso as areas free of FMD without vaccination.

The withdrawal of the vaccine requirement will allow an increase in beef exports and the opening of new markets, such as South Korea and Japan. Until the approval of the new states today (May 27th), only the state of Santa Catarina was recognized as an area free of FMD without vaccination.
