A large number of suppliers in Pakistan are currently exploring the Iranian dates market gap which is expected to widen over the next couple of weeks once the month of Ramadan starts. The suppliers are actively engaging in the import of dates from Iran and storing them in their warehouses with the aim that once the month of Ramadan starts, the prices will increase by more than 50% due to high demand and low supply, presenting them with an opportunity to make decent profits. These suppliers mainly include those who deal in products other than dates all year round and enter into the dates market during the month of Ramadan only.
