The high season for fruit in Chile had as an ally the Terminal Pacífico Sur Valparaíso (TPS), which in the two busiest months sent more than 15,000 containers of products to buyers abroad. The departure to Europe of the container ship "MSC Carole", 328 meters long and with a capacity of 12,200 TEUs, was the most recent.
The ship left loaded with 1,467 refrigerated containers, in addition to shipments in chamber vessels bound for the United States. In refrigerated containers, during March, 9,650 containers with export fruit were transferred, which, added to the 5,953 mobilized in February, total 15,603 units shipped in the two most intense months of the fruit season, which runs between October and April. From October to March, the fruit season in reefer containers accumulates 41,595/mt. The main products that have been exported are table grapes, blueberries, cherries, plums, apricots, peaches, kiwis, nectarines, avocados and pears, which are the fruits of the summer season of the southern hemisphere.
