After weeks of shortages of Clemenules mandarins, the 2022 Tango Mandarin campaign has commenced in Spain. Since the Clemenules campaign ended much earlier than expected, there was a period of clementine scarcity, which raised Tango prices even though it was available in the same quantity as last season. The price of Tango also increased due to a forecasted loss of 30-40% of Nadorcott mandarins, which is the variety that will overlap with Tango, starting in January.

The loss of quantities of Nadorcott is due to the rainy spring that affected the flower on the tree, causing a price increase. As of W51, the farm-gate price of the Tango variety stood at USD 0.74/kg, but due to the high demand deals are being closed at USD 0.90/kg.
