Growers and exporters were waiting for approval from the South Korean government to start mango shipments. The government of the Asian country has already signaled the approval of the orchards and packing houses qualified to export in 2022. Exporters are now waiting for the Korean Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) to publish the lists of audited orchards to send mangoes to South Korea. MAPA is expected to publish the list at the beginning of 24 June.
However the start of the season may be delayed another week, today the agricultural inspectors from all over the country, announced that they will paralyze the activities on 14 and 15 June, indicating a possible strike of these federal servers. Given this, the forecast is that the first Brazilian mangoes arrive in South Korea between 30 June and 7 July.
