Sugarcane growers get a financial lifeline

The Industrial Development Corporation (a government entity) has made financial assistance available to suppliers in the sugar industry after the sugar beet production regions were damaged by recent riots. Growers who suffered losses of less than USD 69,000 will receive the funding as grants (no repayment), while those above this will receive the funding as part of a soft loan (with no interest and flexible payment terms).
