Potato Prices in Tanzania More Than Double in 2022 Due to High Input Costs

The ongoing price increases of important food items in Tanzania is due to high farm inputs costs such as fuel, fertiliser and pesticides which have on average tripled in 2022. As an example, Irish potato prices have abnormally jumped from USD 0.24/kg in January to USD 0.51/kg in August 2022.
