India-origin soy lecithin prices stood at USD 5,000/MT CIF Mersin, Turkey, in January, but prices steadily started to drop to the USD 3,000–3,500/MT range in mid-April. In W16, the prices are being pressured below the USD 3,000/MT level. The main reason for the drop in prices is declining demand in Europe. The quoted prices for Ukraine-origin soy lecithin are around USD 2,850/MT whereas India-origin soy lecithin has started to be quoted between USD 2,750-2,850/MT CIF Mersin levels.
