The most recent data released by the Ministry of Trade Indonesia revealed that the rising demand for tapioca pearl has also driven the demand for tapioca starch up in the span of January to July 2020. So far, the demand for tapioca starch by the national industry has reached 80 MT/month. Tapioca starch is in demand as it is the main ingredient to make tapioca pearl, which has now become one of the most sought after commodity by the food and beverage business in Indonesia to make. The rising demand for tapioca pearl has been primarily driven by the growing popularity of various beverages such as iced tea and iced coffee that mixed tapioca pearl as part of their topping options.
