The consumption trend in Indonesia for Australian premium beef is changing due to the price increase for Australian Wagyu caused by the inflation rate in Australia and lower supply due to fewer cattle slaughtered. Many buyers in the HORECA industry in Indonesia have switched their consumption of Wagyu beef to Black Angus meat due to better pricing. During W27-29, the Indonesian wholesale price for Australian Wagyu was around AUD 90-127/kg, whereas Black Angus was AUD 39-70/kg, depending on the grading.
