Uruguayan Navel oranges are expected to enter the Brazilian market by the second or third week of May. The window shipment for Egyptian Oranges for the season will be up to W14 so it does not collide with the Uruguayan Navels. Although it will start at a high price, the Brazilian market prefers navel oranges, and supermarkets prefer new crop products, decreasing the chances of Egyptian orange shipments further than that week.
In W14, Egyptian oranges stood at USD 12.25/kg for class 1, USD 11.20/kg for class 1B, and around USD 10.80/kg for class 2.
