In anticipation of Ramadan, the Indonesian government has authorized food commodity imports, focusing on meat and sugar, to address the shortage. Two state-owned enterprises, ID Food and Perum Bulog, have been tasked with these imports. Perum Bulog will import 100,000 tonnes of buffalo meat from India, to be sold at IDR 80,000 per kg, and ID Food will import 100,000 tonnes of Brazilian beef, to be sold at a relatively cheaper price, IDR 105,000 per kg. Additionally, ID Food will import 237,575 tonnes of white crystal sugar for household and public consumption.
