Argentina has expanded its self-declared salmonid disease-free zone, as confirmed by the National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa) to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). The expansion includes the Piedra del Águila zone, adding to the previously recognized free zone that included the upper basin of the Limay River and the Alicurá reservoir. Senasa has submitted evidence to the OIE for compliance with international standards for six diseases that affect salmonids. The OIE will review the documentation and publish the self-declared disease status, aiding trading partners in recognizing the sanitary status.
