Vietnam's cashew nut exports in September 2022 decreased by 14.6% in volume and 10.3% in value compared to August 2022, and by 22.2% in volume and 28.2% in value compared to September 2021. The average export price in September 2022 was $6,136/ton, up 0.5% compared to June 2022, but down 7.7% compared to September 2021. The industry is expected to face challenges due to armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, economic recession, and high inflation, but strong demand from the EU and China could offset these challenges. The export proportion of W320 cashew nuts increased significantly, while exports of W240 and DW cashews decreased.
