The Chihuahua Regional Livestock Union is planning to request a judicial order (amparo) to halt the importation of Argentine beef on grounds that it poses a risk to Mexico's sanitary conditions. The union also aims to stop the Opening Agreement Against Inflation and High Costs (Apecic), which exempts its participating companies from mandatory inspections. The union claims that the Ministry of Economy is disregarding the opinions of producers and prioritizing wholesale and retail firms, leading to a lack of food safety. The union is seeking support from the National Confederation of Livestock Organizations (CNOG) and the National Agricultural Council (CNA) for their decision.
