The article highlights the success of the rice-shrimp production model in the Mekong Delta, particularly in Hong Dan district, Bac Lieu province. This model, covering around 162,000 hectares, includes intercropping rice and shrimp and rotating shrimp crops with rice to improve land. It has proven resilient to climate change and provides a stable income for farmers. In Hong Dan, the model has yielded a profitable harvest of giant freshwater shrimp, with each crop releasing over 100,000 animals and a profit of about 60 million VND per hectare after six months. The Ba Dinh General Agricultural Cooperative in Vinh Loc A commune is a key implementer of this model, covering 450 hectares and including 198 members.
